What Is Beauty By Bash Preparing For?
Well, the latest expansion for Beauty By Bash is really exciting for me. It’s something that has been a long time in the making. As many already know, about a year ago I launched the skincare division of my esthetics business. It began with lip balm for children, lip moisturizer, and lip shine. I had three scents of lip moisturizer, one scent of lip shine, and three scents of children’s lip balm. The children’s line was developed at the request of my now 11 year old daughter. One evening while excitedly discussing my lip care line, she became just as excited and asked if she could help. I was ecstatic! My daughter was interested in learning something that could potentially affect her future, in a good way of course. At that point, she and I sat down together to begin planning names and flavors. She wanted a name for the children’s line to be catchy and cute. Her nickname is Dujy and she came up with Dujy’s Smoochies. Cute, right?
Our initial release included Dujy’s Smoochies in grape, peach, and bubble gum flavors; Lip Moisturizer in Peppermint, Vanilla, and Pumpkin Brown Sugar; and Lip Shine in Blackberry Pomegranate. They debuted at the 3rd Annual Dreamgirl Luncheon in Burbank, CA on August, 20, 2016. It was such an exhilarating, yet intimidating, experience. Although this was my second time participating in the Dreamgirl Luncheon, this time was different. I was there in representation of myself and my daughter. It was an adult event, so Dujy wasn’t able to be there to actively market and share her product. However, I was honored to do so, on her behalf. Overall, it was a success, we nearly sold out.
As time passed, I added to my product menu. By Thanksgiving I’d released two highlighters, and by Christmas I had begun developing body butter. After several formula adjustments, I finally had one that met my expectations. Most body butters that I had used always left a greasy feel that I didn’t really like. Almost all of them had a Shea Butter base, and as much as I love Shea Butter, it is so heavy and takes forever to absorb. After extensive research and testing, my preference was Mango Butter. It was softer, with a few more benefits than Shea. I’d found my perfect formula and the body butters took off. The first batch sold out in a day. That was an amazing feeling. While I was working on the second batch, my boyfriend inquired about body butter for himself. I offered him a sample jar that I had just finished and he clarified that he wanted something with a masculine scent. Eureka! I hadn’t even thought about body butter for men. That led me to look at his whole self-care regimen, from his hair and beard to his skin.
So, I said all that to say that this is what Beauty By Bash has been preparing for. An entire men’s product line consisting of beard oil, beard balm, beard shampoo, body soap, and body butter. The development of this line has been slightly more challenging than my earlier releases because I want the scents to be masculine, but distinguishing. Deciding on scents that I assume men would find favorable is a little difficult when I have to be objective. When the scents arrived, I let my boyfriend smell them and he was impressed with them all. He now has a sample jar of each product and uses them daily. We have noticed the changes since he began using the products. Softer hair, more luster in his beard, and noticeably hydrated skin are the most obvious. Products were also distributed to other testers throughout the country with various beard styles. Beauty By Bash is not going to leave the fellas hanging!
